Deepfake Media Detection

Forensic analysis of synthetic faces and AI-generated imagery.

WHY THIS MATTERS

A FABRICATED FACE IN A PHOTOGRAPH OR VIDEO CARRIES NO MARK OF ITS ORIGIN. FORENSIC ANALYSIS FINDS IT ANYWAY.

Face-swap technology - once the exclusive preserve of well-funded film studios - is now freely available as a mobile application. A convincing video of any public or private figure saying or doing anything can be created in minutes and distributed to millions of people in seconds. In India, this capability is being deployed against political candidates, corporate executives, celebrities, journalists, and ordinary individuals. Non-consensual intimate deepfakes are being used for extortion. Fabricated videos are being used to incite communal tension. The human eye has no reliable mechanism for detecting a well-made deepfake. The forensic lens does.

What This Service Includes

Everything you receive at the conclusion of a deepfake detection engagement.

FORENSIC VISUAL REPORT (PDF, SIGNED)

Structured court-ready PDF with executive summary, methodology disclosure, confidence score, and findings - signed by the forensic analyst.

MANIPULATION HEATMAPS

Pixel-level heatmap overlays on source frames and images, showing manipulation probability at each region - designed to be comprehensible to non-technical judicial officers.

FRAME-BY-FRAME TEMPORAL ANALYSIS

For video files, temporal consistency analysis across frames - identifying anomalies in motion, facial boundary behavior, and blending artifacts that span multiple frames.

WHO WE SERVE

BUILT FOR THE INSTITUTIONS THAT NEED FORENSIC CERTAINTY.

Not a probability score. A defensible forensic finding.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

Authenticate photographs and video submitted as evidence in criminal and civil proceedings. Detect fabricated imagery in harassment, extortion, and fraud cases.

COURTS & LEGAL COUNSEL

Commission independent expert analysis of visual evidence. Obtain court-admissible reports on disputed media.

CORPORATE INVESTIGATIONS

Verify the authenticity of photographs or video submitted during HR investigations, due diligence processes, or contractual disputes.

MEDIA & JOURNALISM

Verify viral images and videos before publication or broadcast. Protect editorial credibility.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about video + image deepfake detection

Hear what our clients say about our IT and security solutions

Can deepfake detection work on low-resolution or compressed images?

Icon

Yes, with caveats. Lower resolution reduces the density of forensic signals available, which affects confidence levels. Our reports always document the resolution and quality of the submitted media and their impact on confidence scoring. Even heavily compressed images often retain GAN-specific frequency-domain signatures.

Can you detect deepfakes in screenshots taken from a video?

Icon

Screenshots from deepfake videos are analyzable as images. Note that screenshot capture itself introduces compression artifacts that partially overlap with manipulation signals - this is documented in our methodology. Where possible, submit the original video rather than a screenshot.

What is a manipulation heatmap and how is it used in court?

Icon

A manipulation heatmap is a visual overlay on the analyzed image or video frame showing the probability of manipulation at each pixel location. Regions with high manipulation probability are highlighted. Heatmaps are generated directly from our forensic analysis and serve as the primary visual evidence in our reports - they are designed to be comprehensible to non-technical judicial officers and can be presented alongside expert testimony.

Can your detection identify which specific AI tool was used to create a deepfake?

Icon

In some cases, yes. Different generative AI architectures leave characteristic frequency-domain signatures that our analysis can identify. Where a specific model or architecture is identifiable, we document this in the report. In other cases, we can confirm manipulation without being able to identify the specific tool used.

Can you detect manipulation in photographs taken from social media?

Icon

Yes. Social media platforms apply compression when images are uploaded, but the compressed version is what we analyze - and our methodology is calibrated for social-media-compressed imagery. We accept file uploads or URLs for social media content.
